IBM

IBM (International Business Machines Corporation) is one of the oldest and top-of-the-league MNCs in our list of the top multinational companies in India. It’s headquarters are situated in Bangalore (IBM India Private Ltd). As one of the oldest MNCs in India, it started in the year 1992, and offers a wide host of products and services to the market that range from storage solutions to business consulting.

Microsoft

Microsoft Corporation India is a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation, the American multinational that started in the year 1975. Microsoft Corporation started its operations in India in Hyderabad in the year 1990, where the headquarters remain, and this MNC works closely with the Government of India and many different IT firms. 

Nestle

Nestle India is a world-famous food and beverage company that originated in Switzerland, and is a part of the Nestle S.A. It entered the global market in the year 1912 with some new and innovative products, and is now among the leading MNCs in India. It is counted amongst one of the largest food companies in India, and ranked at number 72 on the Fortune Global 500 in the 2014 on the basis of its revenue. 

Apple Inc

The  American Multinational Company Apple Inc was launched in 1976 and currently tops the charts in technology through its laptops, phones, software and various online services. It is very well known for its world famous products that include best-selling products such as the iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Mac. It also happens to be one of the largest MNCs in India that develops and sells softwares, computers, laptops, and online services.

CITI Group

The CITI Group, founded in 1998, is an American Banking services Corp, and in India it operates via its subsidiary, Citibank. Citibank currently has more than 40 branches in more than 30 cities in India, boasting over 700 ATMs. Its Indian headquarters are based in Mumbai, while the Corporate office is located in Manhattan, New York City (with revenues touching USD 76.88 billion). Citibank was originally formed by one of the largest mergers in history between banking giant Citicorp and financial conglomerate Travelers Group in 1998, and it now owns the world’s largest financial services.

SONY Corporation

Sony is another well-known Japanese multinational company that was started in the year 1946. It began its operations in India in 1994, and has since built a strong foothold in different product categories ranging from media, entertainment, and electronics. The major products being pushed by this MNC include PlayStations, headphones, televisions, mobile phones, cameras, memory cards, etc. It has a total revenue of  USD 153.683 billion, and the Indian headquarters are situated in New Delhi.

Procter & Gamble

Procter & Gamble (P&G) was started by William Procter and James Gamble in 1837. It has since expanded into a worldwide developer MNC and is running in India under the banner of P&G India. It started its Indian operations in 1964 and currently has different consumer-based brands like Olay, Gillette, Vicks, Tide etc in the Indian market. The products range from beauty, grooming, health and household goods.

Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola is a widely acclaimed MNC in India and it is the marketer of non-alcoholic beverages that were founded in 1886 by Asa Griggs Candler. It started operating in India in 1993,  with its corporate office being situated in Atlanta, Georgia (with a revenue of USD 45.998 billion). The company operates in India as a subsidiary of Coca-Cola India Private Ltd.

Pepsico

PepsiCo has made its name in the Indian market as a well-known manufacturer of beverages and snacks. An American Company founded in 1965, PepsiCo operates in India through its subsidiary, Pepsico India Holding Private Limited. Popular Indian bands like Slice, Pepsi and Lays come from this MNC. 

Hewlett Packard

HP (Hewlett Packard) has made its way into the list of top MNCs in India through a wide market of products that range from monitors, desktops, laptops, and other electronic items. HP first started in the year 1939 with its headquarters in Palo Alto, California. Its Indian headquarters are in Bangalore and the company produces a line of printers, servers, workstation computers,  digital cameras, scanners, PDAs, calculators, and computers for home and small-businesses.
